PROLOGUE - The corrupt boss class is trying to discourage the hacks from going out on strike. Here they are...

I. JOE AND EDNA
Joe (Miroslav Přívětivý) is heartbroken. His wife Edna just told him she does not want to see him alive.
Edna (Hana Drietomská): "This is the subject, the EXACT SUBJECT!"
Joe (Miroslav Přívětivý) thanks Edna (Hana Drietomská) for showing him the right way.

II. LAB ASSISTANT EPISODE
Fayette (Dagmar Tesaříková) is an unfeeling man with a strange sense of humor: "He, he, he"
Fayette tells Miller (Marta Štefanidesová) the nature of his new work: "Poison gas..."
Miller (Marta Štefanidesová) will rather dig ditches. Spying is not in his line: "I'm not the civilized type, Mr. Fayette. Nothing suave of sophisticated about me."

III. LABOR SPY EPISODE
Tom Clayton (Dagmar Tesaříková) pretends to be willing to die for his fellow workers: "Cut me up to little pieces."
Voice (Lenka Špačková) defends himself: "Try it yourself.... When this bozo throws that slop around."
Voice risks his life and discloses Tom Clayton's real identity (he is his own brother!) to save his fellow hacks from jail: "I gotta right. I gotta right."

IV. THE YOUNG ACTOR
Stenographer (Hana Drietomská) feels compassion for Philips: "What kind of job is this for an adult man?"
Philips, the young actor (Jana Čerešňáková) shows Mr. Grady that thanks to his training in the ROTC he is well prepared to play a soldier: "With real rifles."
Mr. Grady (Dagmar Tesaříková) is not moved by Philips's (Jana Čerešňáková) desperate exclamation: "Give me a chance!"

V. INTERNE EPISODE
Young and hard working Dr. Benjamin (Lenka Čirková) blows his nose after hearing that he was fired.
Dr. Barnes (Lenka Špačková): "I see." They just told him that Dr. Benjamin's patient died because of Dr. Leeds's incompetence.
Dr. Barnes (Lenka Špačková) asks Dr. Benjamin (Lenka Čirková) to do him a favor: "And when you fire the first shot say, 'This one's for old Doc Barnes!'"

EPILOGUE - Strike ! Strike !! Strike, strike, strike !!!
Agate Keller (Markéta Kaletová), can finally open his heart and inspire all the hacks to go out on strike.
Agate Keller (Markéta Kaletová) stirs the hacks committee to action: "It's war!". All: "War!"
The whole committee is ready to die for what is right. Agate Keller (Markéta Kaletová): "Put fruit trees where our ashes are."
